Barry and I grew up in the same small hometown, never crossing paths. Then one day, about 20 years after Barry had moved away to Hollywood, we met in that same small hometown. In a Bar! We wish it was more exciting.

We now call Beacon NY, home. We’re so busy photographing clients weddings, that we haven’t got around to planning ours… we will soon! (we’ve been engaged for 7 years).

About Kim… The early years

I grew up in a very small town in Upstate NY, that was known for it’s copper pots.

I’m half Italian, half Polish and a Libra. #pierogies  #cannoli.

I have eaten a veggie burger for breakfast almost every day for the past 12 years.

I consider Prosecco a food group.

I once quit a Job, to follow The Ramones on a two week Northeast Tour! (I’m giving away my age).

I studied photojournalism and quickly fell in love with the history and purpose of photography. I have been photographing weddings for 15 years.

My Inspiration can be found by studying the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sally Mann, W. Eugene Smith, Walker Evans, Brassai, Vivian Maier, Berenice Abbott and Mary Ellen Mark.

The day that I truly fell in love with weddings and wedding photography was in 1996. It was the day I saw the image of John F Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. I think It was either the Star or National Enquirer. They were walking out of the chapel and John was kissing Caroline’s hand. (The image was captured by Dennis Reggie.)

When I looked at this image of the two of them, I knew, I wanted to capture moments for people. There was this beautifully voyeuristic quality with a sense of intimacy that I wanted to capture and become a part of. From this moment, I started the journey.

While honing my photography skills, I also worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade.

I worked various positions, from serving, bartending, catering and planning weddings and private events. I was able to see and learn about all aspects of weddings, which made me fall in love with them even more.

I love film! I shot Weddings strictly with film for 6 years, before digital was even a thing.

As far as your wedding, think of me as not just your Photographer, but as your Problem Solver as well. I have experienced everything in this business and will be your guide through it all. My past work and experience is a benefit on your wedding day. Remember, as a Photographer, I’m the only one that is with both of you the entire day.

Oh, as much as I love photography, I hate having my picture taken!

About Barry… The early years

Barry shoots with me and assists with business aspects. I do call him Mr. Biz. As well as Bar, Honey Bear and Barry D.

He is half Irish, half Italian and a Pisces. #guinness #braciole.

He has a Business degree from St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY).

Barry worked in Hollywood, he has a background in Estate/Project Management and the TV/Film Business. He has worked for and with numerous Celebrities. Among them; Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Cher, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and the Chairman of Warner Bros. Records to name a few (He has some great stories!).

Barry was, “The Guy” you would go to for anything!

His work experiences in Hollywood were all encompassing and included planning, supervising, managing and executing high-end parties/events (“Pulp Fiction” wrap party, etc…).

Back in the day, Barry created-wrote, executive produced (with Danny DeVito), and starred in a little TV show, called The SportJerks which aired on Comedy Central/NBA.

As “The Guy”, Barry’s background is a key aspect on the wedding day. He’s a master problem solver, “Go-between” and all around fixer. Barry’s past work and experience is a big benefit for our Clients on their wedding day. You can’t duplicate his knowledge.

Also, he’s a die hard Vikings, Lakers and Orioles Fan. Yankee Fans, please don’t hold this against him.
